Isle of Wight County Jail Roster Overview
The official Isle of Wight County jail roster path is the Western Tidewater Regional Jail inmate lookup. The sheriff's office says the county partners with WTRJ for all incarceration services, so there is no separate Isle of Wight County jail roster to check. WTRJ's management page also directs the public to the inmate lookup and says not to email executive staff for inmate information.
The roster covers WTRJ custody, which may include Isle of Wight local inmates, people from other member jurisdictions, Hampton inmates up to the jail's published limit, and some federal contract inmates. It does not prove that a person has no criminal case, no warrant, no state prison record, or no federal or ICE custody. Isle of Wight County Jail Facility
Western Tidewater Regional Jail is the primary detention facility for Isle of Wight County inmate records. Isle of Wight County Booking Process
After an Isle of Wight arrest, the arresting agency may be the sheriff's office, Smithfield Police Department, Windsor Police Department, Virginia State Police, or another agency. The person is taken through magistrate or court authority for warrant, bail, and commitment decisions. If held locally, the jail custody portion routes to WTRJ. Jail staff create or update the booking record, collect identity data, handle property, conduct screening, assign a jacket number, and process phone access.
New bookings may not appear online at once. WTRJ's property rules also show why the jacket number matters outside the roster. Personal mail requires the five-digit inmate jacket number, and property release generally requires an approved inmate request form. If a booking is too new for the roster, call WTRJ and use the arresting agency records process for an incident or arrest record.

WTRJ's inspected pages did not publish a day-by-day public visitation schedule. The jail's inmate property page says family and friends can send digital text messages, photos, and set up video visits online or through GettingOut. Contact Isle of Wight County Inmates
WTRJ uses digital personal mail. Personal mail should be addressed to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, inmate name, inmate jacket number with the five-digit number included, P.O. Box 247, Phoenix, MD 21131. Legal mail still goes directly to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, 2402 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434. Inmates may not receive packages from outside sources. Nonmetal glasses or contacts with a current prescription are the only published property exception, subject to medical approval.
Phone service is through Viapath or ConnectNetwork. Calls are outgoing debit or collect, limited to 15 minutes, monitored and recorded, and not used before 10:00 a.m. or after 10:45 p.m. Emergency incoming calls are screened by the Shift Commander before an inmate is notified. WTRJ says TTY/TDD is available for inmates.
Isle of Wight County Inmate Funds
WTRJ lists Oasis for commissary, Viapath or ConnectNetwork for phone deposits, GettingOut for video and tablet communication, and Aramark Fresh Favorites or iCare for food packages. Released inmates can pick up account balances from the Administration Office in the Main Lobby from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays and special events. WTRJ does not give balance information to anyone but the inmate.
